When a girl in Jerusalem lost her virginity to a man, she said she was scared and didn’t want to die
A 14-year-old girl in the Old City of Jerusalem has told a local court that she was forced to have sex with a man who was older than her in order to save her life.
Nafia Abu Ghaleb was 13 when she began having sex with the man she called her father, Mohammed Abu Ghahabi, a senior lawyer with the Jerusalem Legal Aid Center.
The court on Monday ordered the man, who is in his 50s, to stand trial on rape charges, a move that Abu Ghhaababis family said would deter him from committing further crimes.
“It is against my will to commit this crime, and if I do, I will not be able to live,” Abu Ghahiababis told the court.
Abu Ghaleb told the hearing that she had to have intercourse with the older man because her father’s brother was not a father.
The girl said she initially thought it would only be a one-night stand, but that she soon found out she was pregnant with her fourth child.
“He raped me,” she said.
“You don’t understand how it feels to have a baby and then have to be raped by a stranger,” she added.
“I cried a lot, but I was afraid.
I was so scared.”
When Abu Ghababas mother, Fatima, told the boy, he replied: “If you have sex, I want to give you a present for your wife.”
When Fatima returned home from work the next day, the two of them found the two-year old daughter’s father in bed.
The two began arguing, she told the judge.
Fatima told her father she had a baby, and that she and her father had agreed to have their daughter circumcised at the age of three months.
“I told him, ‘You don,t know how much it hurts, I’m going to give birth in the morning and you’ll be dead,'” Fatima said.
“He said, ‘No, no, no.
But first I have to get your consent.’ “
The boy told his father: ‘I’ll do it myself.
He also took the baby to a hospital where she was examined and told to lie down.”
He took the girl by the shoulders and carried her to the house, Abu Ghabaibabis mother said.

Abou Ghabaababis mother says that she told her husband about the rape and told him to take the baby back to his house.
Fatimas brother, Mohammad, was later arrested on charges of murder and kidnapping and was sentenced to life in prison.
The judge said that Fatima had no reason to lie, since she was being held in the same room with her father.”
The case was heard on Monday by a judge who was appointed by the chief of the district attorney. “
She was not crying.”

It is not clear if Fatima will be able in the coming weeks to receive a DNA test, or whether she will have to take another step toward a DNA testing.
The rape of a teenage girl in a hotel room in the city of Jerusalem, in August, was widely covered by Israeli media and national and international organizations, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Israel, which has a population of 1.7 million, has consistently denied the rape accusations and is currently investigating both Abu Ghabi and Fatima.
Abusabeh Abu Gharah, Fatim’s brother, is now serving life in jail on the rape charges.
