A Florida woman who died of natural causes at her home in Florida in May has been identified as Lily Pearl Fitzgerald, a 31-year-old mother of two.
Pearl Fitzgerald’s death was the most shocking event in the lives of the Fitzgerald family.
Pearl was found in her home with apparent multiple stab wounds to her chest, her death was ruled a homicide.
A Florida sheriff’s deputy found Pearl at the home, a couple of blocks from her father’s house in West Palm Beach, Florida, on May 27.
“It is devastating for the family to learn that Lily Pearl had died of a natural cause,” Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said.
“Lily was a devoted mother and she loved her children dearly.”
The Palm Beach Post reported that Pearl Fitzgerald was in the process of moving to Los Angeles when she died.
“Her heart and soul will forever be in our hearts and we are all so grateful that she was so brave and had such a loving and caring relationship with her children,” Bradshaw told reporters.
Pearl had recently moved from Florida to L.A. from New York.
The sheriff’s office did not release her death’s cause of death.
“We believe that there is no way to predict how this could have occurred,” Bradshaws said.
She was found dead in her bedroom, and the coroner’s office identified the cause of her death as a homicide, ABC News reported.
The Palm Springs Post reported Pearl Fitzgerald had lived in L.C. since 2012.
“The death of Lily Pearl was tragic and heartbreaking,” the Palm Springs Police Department said in a statement.
“Our hearts go out to the Fitzgeralds and our thoughts and prayers are with the Fitzgerald’s family and friends at this time.”
Pearl Fitzgerald worked as a nurse in the nursing home where she died, according to the Palm Beach Gardens Register.
She had a family of four children ages 13, 10, and four.
